Meeting the Reading Mayor and being awarded the Sports Aid and Sport Futures fund sponsorship!

On Tuesday 13th November I went along to the Reading County council to meet the Mayor for the official presentation of the Sports Aid and Sports Futures fund programme. When I was at University in Birmingham I got a small grant from the local council and free use of the University sports centre. So when I got selected again to represent ITF England, I researched into what Reading Council might offer and found the Sports Aid & Sport Futures Fund: http://beta.reading.gov.uk/article/4057/Sports-Aid–Sports-Futures

The Reading Sports Aid Fund is an independent body that makes small financial grants to promising sportspeople of any age or level of competition. The Sport Reading Futures Programme is a scheme that aims to help and support sportspeople competing at a national level, by providing free access to several sports facilities in the Reading area. I applied for both and was very pleased and surprised to be selected for both! Even getting a Tweet from the Mayor!

Thank you again for the support, it’s really appreciated!

The Reading Sports Aid Fund was also presented with a cheque from @OddfellowsUK. So thank you to them for their support of the scheme!
