I am very happy to be share with you the fantastic Veganuary 2016 results. Here are the details from the team:
January 2016 was a turning point for Veganuary. In just two years, we’ve gone from being something few people knew about (and even fewer knew how to pronounce!), to being the one word on seemingly everybody’s lips.
And today, nearly two months on, we’re absolutely delighted to publish the official results of Veganuary 2016!
- We had 23,000 participants officially register to take part in Veganuary 2016 via Veganuary.com. Anecdotally we know that thousands more took part ‘unofficially’, but for the purposes of reporting, we only refer to those who signed up to our website and received our tailor-made support package.
- 81% of 2016 survey respondents confirmed they are intending to maintain the changes they made during Veganuary!
Our growth rate has been phenomenal! Nearly 600% in only two years…
And what about our ultimate goal – reducing the suffering of animals? This year, with the help of research organisation Faunalytics, we’ve estimated that as many as 3.8 million animals* could have been spared from a life of misery as a result of January’s efforts. *Please click here for the full data breakdown.
More results, are live on Veganuary.com, so do check them out! Our mission at Veganuary is to change the world for animals, and we publish this sort of data – though difficult to calculate – to give our participants something tangible to feel proud of.
Too often are individual actions dismissed as being ineffective, but our hope is that through Veganuary we can demonstrate how those actions combine into something significant and life-changing. Thank you for being a part of it!
I was so privileged to be part of this amazing campaign alongside Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury, where we created my #KickAss smoothie mix for the Veganuary Starter kits. I have seen lots of bloggers have been using the mix to create delicious recipes. You can check them all out on the Indigo Herbs blog and Instagram. Thank you again to Veganuary and Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury. Looking forward to Veganuary 2017!!
