On Sun 23rd April, I headed over to Hertfordshire for the Berkhamsted Triathlon. It was an interesting distance mix, with a 400m pool swim, 12mile cycle and 5mile run.
After a chilly start it had luckily warmed up by the time my swim wave left the pool. The cycle was through the countryside lanes and then it was out onto the grass and trails for the run, both of which were very hilly!
So I was happy that I managed to keep an average pace of 17mph on the bike and 7:55min/mile on the run.
Which resulted in me winning my age cat and being the 2nd female overall:
It was a tough race and by the time I got home and all the adrenaline had gone I was knackered, but it was great fun so I’m looking forward to the next one!
